Around 5 years ago I had my wallet stolen. In it there were two major credit cards along with my social security card and drivers license. I immediately called and cancelled the cards, but it was too late for me. In the short period of a couple hours the thieves managed to open a new bank account with my identity, charge up my credit cards and pretty much ruin my credit for years to come. It is now many years later and I still have debt problems because of this one incident. So protect your identity as much as you can because it only takes one time to ruin your credit for the rest of your life.
